Dr. Mehran Khorsandi

Chairman, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Dr. Khorsandi is a renowned expert of endovascular interventions. He has been performing cardiovascular and vascular interventions for over 25 years with one of the highest success rates in the field.

Dr. Khorsandi’s expertise and interests include: High Risk Coronary Angioplasty, Peripheral Artery Disease and Limb salvation, Certified Implanting Physician for Pacemaker and Defibrillator Implantation, Amputation Prevention, Varicose Vein Treatment. He has been on the attending staff at Cedars Sinai since 1993. As a member of the Cedars-
Sinai Heart Institute, he is actively involved in the training of the cardiology and interventional cardiology fellows in the cardiac catheterization lab.

Dr. Khorsandi is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.


Henry Bourang

President, Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder

Mr. Bourang has 30 years of senior management and technical experience in the medical device industry. Henry’s expertise is in research & development, manufacturing and commercialization of percutaneous valves, stents, catheters and other angioplasty, neurological and peripheral vascular devices. Henry held senior research and development and engineering positions at Biosensors, Edwards Life Sciences, Boston Scientific and Guidant. Henry is responsible for the issuance of more than 100 US and international issued and pending patents.


Ken Richards

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining ABS, Mr. Richards was a co-founder and partner of York Bridge Capital,a private equity firm. Ken has 30+ years’ experience in corporate and investment banking, including serving as Managing Director with CIBC World Markets in Los Angeles and Toronto, and CFO of both public and private companies. At CIBC, he was Managing Director of a $5 billion debt portfolio. Throughout his career, he has completed large debt, high yield and equity financings, in both North America and across the globe. He was a NASD Supervising Principal for CIBC in the United States. Ken has served as an Advisor to innumerable companies and he is co-founder of the Westlake/Santa Barbara Chapter of Tech Coast Angels and previously served on TCA’s Board of Governors. (TCA is the largest angel-funding network in the United States). He also served on the Biotechnology Industry Organization (“BIO”) Finance Committee (BIO is the biotechnology industry’s principal trade organization).

Mr. Richards earned a BS in Biology, a BS in Finance and a MBA from Dalhousie University.
